For many years my journey into art was interrupted, and my artist’s voice was stilled. Now that I have taken it up again, what I long to express is the underlying breathtaking harmony in the world, where I see an amazing, extraordinary intelligent design laid out in exquisite detail. Light and shadow, distinct shapes and mysteries – God speaks – am I listening? Through pen and ink, charcoal and pastel, I delight in recording scenes of familiar and fascinating surroundings, or capturing a moment in time. I want the viewer to experience the same sense of awe that I feel when an image – a sunset, a tree, a rock formation, a person – suddenly strikes me as a special message, a gift from God.
